Archies Footwear was absolutely stoked to be a major sponsor of the Bondi Lifeguards Splash Series’ Sydney Harbour Splash held on Wednesday January 26.
The event is run by a long-time friend of the Archies Footwear crew, Reidy from the Bondi Lifeguards.
In what was the 6th installment of the iconic event, participants could pick between 1km, 1.5km and 2km swims starting at Rose Bay and following the coastline, giving participants stunning views of the Harbour Bridge as they went.
In 2022 the Splash Series attempted to raise funds and awareness for Dementia Australia and WAYS Youth and Family. This year was the most successful Splash Series yet, raising more than $20,000 for the charities.
There were no prerequisites to meet and no certain time you had to finish by, the swim was for everyone of all abilities and having fun was the only must!
As part of our involvement, we ran the Archies Express Ferry. Decorated from head to toe in our trademark red, the Archies Express Ferry brought participants across to the event from the Northern Beaches and back again with ease.
Everyone who was lucky enough to step on the Archies Express Ferry was given a brand new free pair of Archies from members of our team - not bad for a trip across the harbour.
Reidy and the Bondi Lifeguards have been long supporters of Archies Footwear, and Archies Footwear founder and CEO Dan Jones said Archies was pleased to be able to support them back.
“It was great to be a part of such an amazing community event supporting Reidy and the Bondi Lifeguards, who were raising money for Dementia Australia and WAYS, both of which are fantastic causes.”
