Archies Arch Support Thongs are designed by a Physiotherapist from Melbourne, Australia, as an alternative to flat thongs / sandals while providing legitimate orthotic / arch support.
Features and benefits:
✔ Legitimate Orthotic / Arch Support - Archies Thongs have a similar amount of support as most off the shelf orthotics. This may help to support the foot and improve foot posture, thereby potentially reducing the strain on your feet and lower limbs.
✔ Two Levels of Arch Support - You can never cater for every person with one shaped arch profile. Archies Thongs have the options of either Standard Arch Support or High Arch Support, this helps us to specifically cater to your foot type and support needs.
✔ Unbelievable Comfort! - The orthotic / arch support found in Archies Thongs combines with a super soft, highly resilient foam to provide an unbelievably comfortable feel, irrespective of whether or not you wear orthotics or have issues with your feet making them the perfect thong to wear when out walking or as a slipper in and around the house.
✔ Ultra-Light - The highly specialised foam material found in Archies Thongs is ultralight in comparison to other orthopaedic thongs which may result in less tired and achy feet at the end of the day.
✔ Tighter Strap - In thongs with a loose strap, your toes claw down and you do not get the protective support from the arch like you are supposed to. The tighter strap in Archies Thongs may help to reduce tow clawing allowing you to walk more naturally.
✔ One piece construction - As the thongs are all moulded as one you are far less likely to break the toe pole as you are in thongs with a base and plug configuration.
All of these features combine to provide a thong that is perfect for rest and recovery after exercise and sport. This is why Archies Thongs are the choice of thongs for many professional athletes Australia wide.
Once you try Archies Arch Support Thongs you will never want to take them off your feet!
Which level of arch support is best for you?
Level of Arch Support
At Archies Footwear we know that it is impossible to adequately cater for all feet with one arch profile, as a result, Archies Arch Support Thongs come in a Standard Arch Support model and a High Arch Support model. Having the two arch profiles allows us better cater for you arch type and support needs.
Which one is better, the high arch or the standard arch?
One arch profile is not necessarily better than the other. Both arch profiles have substantial orthotic / arch support and a similar amount of support to that found in off the shelf orthotics. It’s just that the high arch support model has increased support in comparison to the standard arch support mode and one arch profile may be more suited to your foot type, personal preference and what you are used to. E.g, If you are used to wearing orthotics or other support footwear.
So, how do I know which model is the right one for me?
This is very easy and is not a big decision!
If you are used to wearing orthotics or other supportive shoes and sandals, then it is likely that you will prefer the feel of our of high arch support model.
If you are not used to wearing orthotics or supportive footwear, then our standard arch model will likely be a better choice for you.
If you have low arches / flat feet, then you will likely prefer our standard arch model, as the high arch support will likely feel that it has too much support (unless of course you are used to wearing orthotics with a lot of support).
If you have high or normal type arches, then you will be fine in either our high arch support model or our standard arch support model, it would just come down to personal preference of what you are used to and your support needs.
Click the following text to find out how to know if your last pair of thongs was a High Arch or a Standard Arch model.
Not sure which one to go with?
If unsure of which one to go with then definitely go with the standard arch support model, it still contains legitimate orthotic / arch support, it is super comfortable and almost every person absolutely loves and raves about this thong! You can then consider going for the high support model at another stage once your feet are used to having the support.
Regardless of which model you choose, do not stress, it’s not a big decision! Both models have substantial orthotic / arch support and it is highly likely you will be happy with whatever you choose! In the unlikely event that you choose a model and are not 100% satisfied, simply post the thongs back to us in new / unworn condition and we will happily send you a replacement pair in the other model free of charge. To prevent misuse of this offer, return postage of the original pair is at the expense of the customer, but we will happily pay for the postage on the replacement pair..
Why is a description of my foot width helpful?
While we do not make thongs that are of a different width, if you can tell us whether or not you have a wide, narrow or regular width foot, we can choose a thong for you with a strap that will be more suited to the shape of your foot and we can also then manipulate the strap in our warehouse to better suit your foot shape.
If you do not know if you have a wide, narrow or regular width foot, do not stress, we will just send you a thong with a strap that is of normal tightness. Please note, most people with a narrow or a wide foot know this as they have been use to buying wide or narrow shoes their entire life, so if you are unsure, then it is highly likely that you have a normal foot width.
Please do not send us a measurement of your foot width as this will NOT help us, a simple description of your foot width is all that we need!
Why is it important to measure your foot length and how to do it accurately?
Due to manufacturing variance, not all pairs of Archies Thongs are perfectly the same length and the length can vary from thong to thong, even though they have the same size number on them.
Also, just because you are normally a certain size in your regular thongs or shoes does not necessarily mean that you will be the same size in Archies Thongs!
If you are a new Archies Thongs customer,
By providing us with an accurate measurement of your foot length, our warehouse team will carefully hand pick a thong which will be custom suited to the length of your foot which will see the orthotic sit in the correct position. When we have an accurate measurement of your foot length, we almost always get the size perfect!
If you do not provide us with an accurate measurement of your foot length and you only provide us with your normal size, then we will simply send you a thong that is a ‘true / correct’ length in that size as per the Archies Thongs size conversion chart.
Please be warned, by not providing us with an accurate measurement of your foot length and just relying on the size number, you risk getting a pair of thongs that are not the correct length for your foot and you may have to exchange them…and no one wants that!
The best way to measure to your foot is to do the following:
Stand on a piece of paper. This is best done on a hard surface such as floor boards or tiles (not carpet).
- The very back edge of your heel should be directly in line with the very back edge of the paper. Please be as accurate as possible.
Mark the very back edge of the paper in the middle of the heel.
Mark the very front of the big toe with a pen on the paper.
Measure the distance between the two points in centimetres to the nearest millimetre. The line you end up measuring will be slightly diagonal.
Note: in the circumstances that your 2nd toe is substantially bigger than your big toe, then measure to your second toe. If you have one foot bigger than the other, then measure your biggest foot.
Why is it important to measure your thong length and how to do it accurately?
Even if you already know your Archies Thongs size, due to manufacturing variance, by far the best way to get the correct size is to provide us with an accurate measurement of the length of your current pair of Archies Thongs that fit you perfectly.
By providing us with an accurate measurement of your old Archies Thongs that fit you perfectly, our warehouse team will carefully find a thong that is an exact match to your old thongs, giving you the perfect fit every time you order online!
In the event that you do not provide us with an accurate measurement of your existing Archies Thongs and you only provide us with the size number of your last pair, then we will simply send you a thong that is as the ‘true / correct’ length in that size as per the Archies Thongs size chart.
However, please be warned, if you do not provide us with an accurate measurement of your last pair that fit you perfectly, there is a risk that your new pair will not be the same length as your last pair.
The best way to measure to your current Archies Thongs is to do the following:
- Use a ruler to measure on the underside / grip side of the thong, NOT the top of the thong.
- Lay the ruler along the length of thong using the marking points provided, ensuring that the ruler is firmly pressed against the thong and the thong is fully stretched out.
- Take the measurement from the furthest point of the thong that you can see (this point is on the top of the thong as the underside / grip side is slightly angled in). Please be as accurate as possible and measure to the nearest mm.
